Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Anything typed into a search box on this site goes directly to the outside provider that runs that tool, and the provider processes it and returns the results. We do not keep or log the names, dates, or numbers entered into those boxes on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is retained so that we can answer it, and it stays inside our team. We do not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation requires that we do.
Data We Gather Automatically
Technical details about each visit reach our servers when a page loads. Those details include:
- The IP address assigned to the device making the request
- The browser in use and its version
- The type of device and its operating system
- Which pages were viewed and how long each stayed open
- The referring site, when one sent the visitor here
- A timestamp for every page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to show how the site gets used, such as which pages draw traffic and where readers leave. Analytics services aggregate that information for us. Browser settings can block cookies at any time, and some parts of the site may behave differently once they are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping pages online, available, and quick to load
- Passing search requests to the partner service that handles them
- Learning which pages help readers and which need revision
- Finding and fixing technical faults
- Displaying advertising that may relate to a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What it publishes is general guidance about where Baltimore County warrant records are held and how to check them, through the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the District Court of Maryland, District 8, and the Sheriff's Warrant Services section. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing collected about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Whatever is entered into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy rather than this one. Those partners decide their own retention and sharing rules, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links on this site lead to Maryland court pages, the Baltimore County Sheriff's Office, state agency records pages, legal aid organizations, and outside search services. Following one takes the visitor off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then governs the visit. Read that policy before sharing personal details.
Advertising partners may also track activity across sites in order to serve targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may reach:
- Search partners that process queries run from this site
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices for the information we hold. No system connected to the internet is beyond reach of every threat, so security is a matter of reducing risk rather than eliminating it. We cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information reaches us, we will remove it once we learn of it.
Your Data Rights
Records held by a Maryland government agency, including court and Sheriff records, are governed by the Maryland Public Information Act, General Provisions Title 4, which sets out rights of inspection, response timelines, and cost limits. That law applies to those agencies rather than to this private site, and readers who want an official record should request it from the office that holds it.
For the information this site itself holds, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of what is held about them
- Correct details that are inaccurate
- Delete their data, where we are able to
- Stop certain kinds of processing, such as analytics or advertising
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as the site changes. When it does, the revised text appears on this page with a new effective date.
